Night Auditor



  • Receive and register guests on arrival, using their names at all times adhering to laid down procedures

  • Close and reconcile all departmental cashier shifts

  • Review and check revenues posted for all departments

  • To check in customers ensuring they are made to feel welcome, comfortable and confident about being in our hotel

  • Ensure that any reservations are taken correctly and passed directly to the Reservations department

  • Maximize in-house selling wherever possible

  • Be thoroughly familiar with all Company selling procedures and promotions

  • Ensure maximum occupancy and rates are achieved wherever possible

  • To check out guests promptly ensuring they receive a clearly presented and accurate bill and depart feeling we have valued their business

  • Issue departmental keys/floats/radios according to hotel procedure

  • Record all cash received

  • To take room reservations, ensuring all customers receive a friendly and efficient response which accurately meets their needs

  • Ensure the security of all property and cash

  • Be aware of hotel room availability at all times

  • Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct

  • Understand and comply with the company’s policy on Health & Safety at work

  • Carry out all duties in a safe manner having regard to the health, safety and welfare of self, other members of staff, guest and other persons on hotel premises

  • To carry out any reasonable request made by Management and Hotel guests to the best of your ability

  • To carry out additional responsibilities given by the Night Manager

  • To have a complete understanding of all aspects of Night Audit and to carry out night audit duties on a Rota basis

  • To complete all Company control documents, banking, daily business

  • Ordering and delivery of newspapers

  • Taking and delivery of room service orders

  • Fire & security walks carried out and recorded during your shift

  • Print and distribute daily business reports

  • Carry out weekly and monthly tasks as required

  • To deputize for the duty manager in his/her absence
